CAREER CRISIS! Please help me decide if my dream career will be promising 10 years from now...?

I really really need some help folks. I am a 20 yr old student in Texas wrapping up my ociates degree. For a Long time now Psychology has been my major and I am Very pionate about becoming a counselor or therapist one day. I am very interested in becoming an addictions counselor in particular. Nonetheless, I keep getting negative feedback on the career field every time I turn around. Is it true that its hard to get a job as a psychologist nowadays? I want a career where I can find a job in 10 yrs, plus I'd love to stay put in TX but am open to the southwest, west part of the country. If I'm gonna go to school for a long time and get my masters of doctorates I'd at least like to be making $70-80,000 a yr. I even searched careerbuilder.com and the jobs were a little scarce. So my needs boil down to 3 things, 1) I have to at least make like $75,000 a yr, 2) I am open to different fields of study but psych is what I like, but more importantly Helping People fix their lives is what I'm pionate about, and last 3) I dread becoming a psychologist and having to be a professor at some college or something.....PLEASE HELP!
