Know if anything will remove the polyvinyl acetate in "b'loonies" from a kid's hair?

Ja-Ru makes a plastic that you can blow up into balloon shapes. The chemicals involved are mainly polyvinyl acetate and ethyl acetate plastic fortifiers. My son just fell asleep with a glob of it in his bed (HOW?!?) and it's dried in his hair. Can it be softened and removed, or do we just have to give him a late-summer buzz cut?
