Why Did My Hamster die?

Hi, My hamster fred died on sunday but we don't know why!!!! The night before he didnt come out much when he's usually running around and chewing everything. We found him the next morning, his food from yesterday still untouched and him dead with beddign in his mouth... HELP ME FIND OUT WHY!
